This was the final project for my Drawing II class at TCC this spring semester, and I had a lot of fun with it. As I mentioned in my spider study I found out that using pastel paper really helps instead of using water color paper, go figure right?
The image used to make this was actually made back in 2015 while I was still attending Virginia Wesleyan, and I was using it for a stencil project in a self portrait based body of work for my drawing class there. I decided to keep the thermal like colors but I still think I should try again because it's just a little off, but I know I'll be able to nail it down better the next go around.
I really just liked the pose to be honest, it just feels more like me, kinda goofy, but also somewhat defiant or deviant in a way (I guess kind of smug too, but I hardly ever feel that way about anything haha).
