Abstracts at the VAC

Work In Progress / 13 January 2019

Hello followers! With tomorrow being my last free day before the spring semester starts, I figured I'd get a head start on the creative rush and make some abstract paintings tomorrow January 14th.

I go to TCC in Virginia, so I'll be using studio space at the Visual Arts Center in Old Towne Portsmouth for this little exercise. I'll be sure to post both progress pics and of course the finished pieces.

In the mean time I hope you guys like this little peak of what I've already had started.

Hello ArtStation!

General / 04 January 2019

Hello there new followers and those who have followed over from my other social media outlets! I have a quick question for you guys if you are willing to help me out a little while I'm still sprucing up the place.

My question, or rather, questions are;

-What do you like about my art?
-What sorts of characters/creatures would you like me to make?
-Do you like High Fantasy? ((I'll give you a hit, I'm working on a big IP))

If you'd like to help please answer at least one of the three above questions, or if you want to be a superstar to me answer all three! I'd love to hear from you and it really does help me plan out the kind of content that I hope you all enjoy and follow me for!

Also just as a sort of statement, this is still in the works, but I'd like to make a "Character Vault" where I show off all of the characters I've created so far. This would include characters I have made for my IP projects, RPG games, and some just because making characters is real fun for me and I can't quite help myself.

Thanks so much for your time, and happy belated New Years!

Moving to ArtStation

General / 24 December 2018

Hello viewers, I’ll be closing this website in April when my subscription runs out, and I hope to be fully transitioned over to ArtStation, which is a website that will let me showcase my work and then have a blog on the side.

I think this is an ok move, or at least I’m hoping it is haha. Anyway I’ll be moving my work that I have hosted on this blog over to the other account, and I will not likely be posting much of anything else here in the meantime.

Once I have everything up and running I will make another post that will have the new links and any updated information. Thank you very much for following me and for taking a look at my work, it means a lot!!

Thanks so much for reading, hope you all enjoy the art and comment on which are your favorite(s).

Art Showing, grab a drink!

General / 25 May 2018

If any of my readers are in the Hampton Roads area of Southern Virginia, I invite you to come and see some of my work that’s on display.

The location is a little local treat for beer enthusiasts and table top gamers alike, called The Bearded Bird Brewery! Sitting just at the edge of Norfolk’s NEON arts district, 727 Granby St. is the address just waiting to be googled.

Even if you aren’t that interested in the show, I do recommend trying some of the tasty homebrew recipies they have on tap! For those of you who like darker beer, they have a Not Quite English porter, and Porchata; don’t worry lighter beer lovers they also have a fine selection of ales and IPAs as well!

So do come down and check out The Bearded Bird, where tasty drinks and good times with friends are waiting for you.

A question for my readers:

General / 20 May 2018

Would you all also be interested in seeing some of my writing?

A silly question, perhaps, but I did want to ask you all, because I am curious. I know I have a few friends who have already read a few samples, or have even been so kind as to listen to me read aloud. With that in mind is like to hear from my other readers. What would you all like to see, and or read?

Many of you have already seen a good selection of my visual work, but not so much of my written work. Any ideas? Suggestions even?

I would love to hear from you all, so please don’t be shy!

(The piece above is one of my first abstract paintings in a while and will be in my art show May 23rd!)

Update-aruo

General / 30 April 2018

So I noticed that there were several lovely people who started subscribing to this blog, and I felt terrible that there hasn’t been anything added for your viewing pleasure.

Things have been tense and well, just kinda bad all around, but hey that’s why we have art!

So without further ado, here are some new pics for you lovely new comers!

All of the above images are either finished works for an upcoming show, or they’re warm up sketches and practice experiments.

Thank you so much everyone, hope you all are doing well!

Inktober Day 3

General / 04 October 2017

The Phantom approaches his dark sockets staring,
he points a finger daring,
The Vicomte to draw his saber sheathed from slashing.
Christine pleads close to sobbing,
unable to bear the thought of her lover dying.
A threat is all, a warning of what is to come,
a flash and a puff of smoke are all that’s left when he’s gone.

Day 3 was suggested by another coworker, this time Will. While the phantom as a prompt was kind of vague, I couldn’t help but to think of arguably the best scene of the play/movies during the masquerade ball where Eric the Phantom is dressed as The Red Death.

Inktober Day 2: Guardian of Forests

General / 03 October 2017

Friend and foe alike should beware,
should you enter the forest with intent to harm
the trickster has quiet paws with which he pads around
and sharp teeth with which he has to guard.

Day 2 for Inktober! Jordan asked for this prompt as well and I’m very excited to show this and the Druid to him when I see him next. Until tomorrow then everyone!

Druid

General / 02 October 2017

An old druid walks alone at night, a little lantern his only light,
he picks over stones and leaves, there are no more birds, no more bees
his forest is gone, aging just like he.

Day one for Inktober 2017 is getting to you a little late, but here he is; as suggested by my friend and co-worker Jordan. Day two is also his suggestion and hopefully I will have that posted here in a few hours.
